With the collaboration of the public, who voted through the app, Future MMA defined the card of its 7th edition, scheduled for July 26 in São Paulo. In addition to the bantamweight title fight between Herberth Indio and Taigro Costa, and the return of Anderson Buzika, scheduled to face Jackson Tortora, another eight bouts were confirmed.
One of them is between Bruno Korea and Bruno Menezes, for the flyweight division. At the age of 28 and with a UFC appearence, Korea returns to the Future MMA decagon after the bout with Leandro Foguinho in the 4th edition in April. More experienced, Menezes, 33, returns to fight in Brazil after victorious passage through China. They overcame Antônio Piauí and João Alicate, respectively, in the people's preference.
Also by the flyweights, former Rizin and Contender Series Allan Puro Osso will finally make his long-awaited debut in Future. The athlete from Chute Boxe Diego Lima has already been scheduled to fight in the event twice, but in both cases he ended up leaving the card. This time he defeated Gilberto Cangaceiro in the popular vote. His opponent within the decagon will be Marcelo Hulk, who won Lucas Oliveira in the dispute of the vacancy.
Who also secured a place in the edition were the lightweights Brendo Bispo and Marcos Forever, who face each other at different moments. Unbeaten since 2016, Bishop defeated Magnus Kelly by unanimous decision at the 3rd edition of the event in march of this year. On the other side, Forever enters the cage for recovering himself, since he was knocked out by Ednilson Cai-Cai in his last fight in April.
The event celebrates the visibility given to fighters
With less than six months of existence, Future MMA has exported fighters to LFA, Invicta, Cage Fury, One Championship and, most recently, to UFC, cases of Wellington Turman, Karol Rosa, John Allan and Ariane Sorriso. Founder of the event, Jorge Oliveira highlighted the company's role as showcase for major international shows.
"From the outset, when the idea of Future emerged, one of the main objectives was to give visibility to the Brazilian fighters in the international market. Our scenario was lacking a direct platform for the UFC, as is the LFA in the United States, so we came to occupy this void. The fact that John Allan was hired less than 24 hours after he knocked out on Future 6 proves this", celebrates the owner of the event.
